Jason Latona – Owner, Photographer

Film – it’s my passion. Nearly forgotten when digital cameras swept the market in the early 2000s, film is making a comeback with new camera models in development, as well as a multitude of classic and modern recipes available.

My goal is to keep film photography alive – and accessible – for anyone who enjoys its timeless aesthetic.

emerged asย  The New York on Film Project is about more than just pretty pictures taken with old film cameras: It unifies the storytelling of photography with actual story, or history, of the subject. A good photograph captures more than light; it’s the essence, the feeling that whisks you – if for a second – into the moment the photo was taken.

Our focus (pun shamelessly intended) is to provide the interesting story behind each picture. What led a house to ruin, a tractor to decay or a man to quit his corporate job to work on a farm.

We’re always looking for interesting subjects whose face, life or environment tells a story. We don’t pay, nor are we paid. This is a labor of love.
